This was clunky...

R1 on 3B. I'm in C slot.

Grounder to F5, on the throw I move in towards 1B, and have one of those "did she pull her foot" deals. I couldn't see the pulled foot , just noticed there was a giddup...

Live and Learn.

:)

The fact you posted and learned something is the main reason I really like this board.

I've learned my fair share of rules/mechanics from this board. Just have to be willing to take...

Had this come up and partner was pretty adamant we should get an out and a DQ.

F1 gets a single. Coach tells me he's got a courtesy runner for the pitcher. I pull out the line up card and see he...

ASA, 16U, Association Championships, pretty mellow game.

Player grounds out to F5 to end the top of the 3rd inning.

The coach of the team that was just on defense comes out and says " The last...

I went back to school the last couple of years.

I looked like one of those Genghis Khan warrior dudes. Top knot pony tail.

Then came back to reality and umping...got a hair cut :(

Funny and Creepy At the same time.

When I was a young, long haired, metal listening, fellow I never , ever would have imagined that I would be reading a thread online about who's umpiring softball games.

:confused::);):cool:

Well at times I'm an odd kind of guy. :)

My spider sense went off when I called it a foul ball, I knew something wasn't quite right.

My thinking was I called it a dead ball strike, albeit a...

Dead ball strike- ASA

I'm confused. :o

2 strikes on batter. Pitch is inside the batters box, batter swings, hits her in the hands. Ball goes foul.

I ruled foul ball. No one said anything.

I can't seem to find...

Same here

In our area, not counting the DI umps, we all work 2 man.

The sectional championship games are 3 man system.

So the vast majority of us have very minimal experience in 3 man.

We go out on...

Going with the ASA definition...not at the precise moment the bat lodged in her mask...(using exaggeration here).

It wasn't a malicious thing, but it was a pretty forceful thing.

Batter throwing the bat

I know this has been talked about before. It must be my search forum skills suck because I can't find any threads on this.

Different way to handle this ?

ASA pool play 16U.

I'm BU. R1 on 1B. Runner breaks for 2B on a steal. Does this hook slide, and rolls off the bag screaming in agony.

When I say screaming, I mean screaming, it's obvious she's...

Good Call

See this one a regular basis. Make this call on a regular basis.

The coaches who know the rule say nothing, those who don't come out to chat.
