Here’s a solution for the NFHS, adopt the NBA rule and allow players to stand up. Any rule that rewards hustle and means less whistles is good in my eyes.

Actually the NBA uses the terms live and alive. On a free throw, the ball is live when at the disposal of the FT shooter and it becomes alive when the FT is released.

It wasn’t a throw-in, just a normal lob pass into the key. The pass was not deflected. The foul by the offensive player happened while the ball was in the air on the pass.
