For the past 3 seasons I've used a product called "Leather Lube" that I found at a local shoe store. It is kind of a waxy product that you rub on the shoe and then wipe off. It helps waterproof the...

I'm looking for the standard foul nomenclature for reporting NFHS/NCAA fouls (i.e. "OPI" is offensive pass interference, etc.) Can anyone point me to a web link where I can find an all inclusive...

Rule books received

Just curious to know how different associations handle the distribution of rule and case books, and officials manuals for Fed.
1. Does your state association provide you a copy of the books as part...

Thanks BobM for an excellent, thought-provoking thread!

I can see MJT's point about 6-1-6 and it just seems that the Fed could fix the mess by removing the "in the field of play" phrase in the...

I tend to agree with this ruling on the play (that A get's the ball 1/10 at the 6) because there is no rules support for a "first touching in A's end zone." While it may not seem "fair" to Team B...

My first reaction was that it was an interception and touchback. Replay appeared to confirm that. After both players went out of bounds the offensive player appeared to gain possession of the ball....

To get a safety call here the player intercepting the ball would need to bring the ball out of the end zone into the field of play and then go back into the end zone (i.e., he would be the one...

I noticed that too (the Vikings/Bears refs are in white knickers); wonder what the rationale is for wearing black vs white? Certainly appeared to be worse weather in Chicago - the officials were...

Nebraska v Oklahoma - OOB question

Saturday night's Big 12 Championship Game. I believe it was in the 3rd quarter and a Nebraska punt is downed at about the B 1 yard line. The A player downing the punt clearly stepped out of bounds...

This is a live ball personal foul. The player made a stupid, unnecessary, but illegal block. It's a safety issue and, perhaps more importantly, by penalizing it correctly as a live ball personal...

Fourth and 10 for team K from its own 20 yard line. With K1's punt in flight, R2 and R3 give valid fair-catch signals. R2 muffs the kick, and the ball ricochets toward R3. As R3 is about to catch...
