One way I like to think about indirects is that they're not called against the coach at all.
An indirect occurs and is
charged to the coach when a technical foul called against
someone else other than a player (the 5 legally in the game) or a substitute. We never "call" the indirect itself. It is only the way the foul penalty is administered.
