I'd find that hard to believe.

Me too, and I don't want to hear his "English Patient Saga" either!

Remember when Brodie pulled the wrong end on the knot and the compressed air tanks rolled free? Hooper jumped his butt pretty good.

True story - A professional photographer who has done underwater work for Discovery and National Geographic lives here, locally. He arrived home from a Carolina Hurricanes game last month, prior to Christmas. As he got out of his car, he knocked over one of his dive tanks. The tank EXPLODED, blew out the wall that separated his garage from his house, and among other injuries, severed his hand above the wrist. They had to amputate his arm at the elbow. His wife, who was inside brushing her teeth, was also injured in the explosion.

Incredible, huh? Makes it easy to understand how Brodie blew the shark all to hell!

I am meaning serious injury that involves an Emergency Room run &/or numerous doctor visits to fix/correct the injury.

Losin' one's virginity is not a work/sports related injury unless you work in a strip club or brothel.

Thanks so much for that information.

You know, a lot of new posters find that they learn much more from reading the topics that others have psoted as opposed to starting a half dozen threads each day all by themselves.

I am not starting new topics every day, as you state/think. I do also just read through topics without posting, though there have been times I felt like posting a response for clarification or to ask additional questions which I did not.

Can a person not be curious about similar circumstances without being read the riot act?

Sure, but don't expect to be able to dictate the direction of responses.

And look up "riot act," it's not really applicable here. (But don't copy and paste what you find, please.)

I was using the riot act as an example.

Can a person not be curious as to if others have suffered similar injuries & what treatment(s) they went through?

Like has been stated in another topic, am trying find out ways to prevent similar injuries from happening (aka preventing mistakes).

Four years ago, I blew out a knee in the first contest I ever officiated... torn ACL, shredded medial meniscus, grade III MCL sprain.

After reconstructive surgery and about a year, I got back to normal.

Then last summer I was dead-lifting and tweaked the knee again. After a full football season and a partial basketball/wrestling season, I've been diagnosed with additional medial meniscus tears, lateral meniscus tears, and grade 2/3 arthritis in my fibula (at the age of 34).

I've been warned to cut any high impact activities (i.e. officiating). I smiled and asked my orthopedic surgeon when I should plan for my first replacement.

1. Again (and for the final time), you're free to ask the question, but don't think you can control the responses.
2. "the riot act" isn't applicable to this situation. google it and read up, you'll learn something.

Sure, post it on the General Discussion forum. Your "injury" has absolutely nothing to do with basketball officiating.

It has everything to do with basketball officiating as I have stated several times, that I am wanting to get on the court as an official. I am wanting to know what others have done in order to get back up to par in order to be able to officiate again on the court, that have had similar injuries.

If that was an absolute requirement for all the posts in this forum, then we'd have a couple of people with their post counts cut in half.

You simply have to work. Strengthen the muscles so they can support the joint. I made the mistake of trying to baby the joint after being cleared. Once I "got over" that and got after it in the gym, I made great strides.
