Approximately 124 games since mid-September:

39 Varsity nights (Mostly V/JV doubleheaders, about a 50/50 mix of boys and girls)
6 JV tournament dates, usually 2 games each
2 Freshman games
24 Junior high games, all in the fall
5 Rec league high school games
5 Home school tournament games
1 varsity girls scrimmage

$7,023 made total, including mileage

Longest drive: 125 miles
Shortest drive: Less than five miles in the same city where I live

Bought two new shirts, a pair of pants, and a jacket before the season started. Need new shoes, another couple of shirts, and new whistles before next year.

Gave 5 techincals:

1 JH player
1 JV player
1 V player
1 V coach
1 for the defense slapping the ball on a throw-in

I've used the same whistle all season. I have a bagful of whistles and will likely use the same one until I crack it.

Net Total Income

It would be interesting to see what all of your total net income is after expenses and travel costs. I haven't finished my total out of pocket yet but it will be around $1000 expense mostly for travel and dues. Did not buy much new equipment this year, oh - and 6 tubes of icy hot - one new ace bandage - 6 bottles of Advil - a new hot water bottle - new cold water bottle - one knee support (stole from my son) - 2 bottles of hair gel - 2 tubes of Old Spice antiperspirant - 1 pair of heel supports - 1 bottle of Febreeze - 2 bottles of shampoo - 6 bars of soap - 6 boxes of granola bars - 6 boxes of Smucker's Uncrustables peanut butter jelly sandwiches - 3 tubes of Chap-Aid lipbalm - 2 bottles of prescription pain meds - 6 B12 shots - one large container of chocolate protein mix - 1 case of rice milk - 6 bottles of hand sanitizers - 2 new terry cloth white towels - package of band aids - 1 box of alchohol swipes - 2 pairs of soft gel ear plugs - 1 new Dunkin Donuts coffee travel mug - and a bunch of lunches at Subway....

I know. But how else is he ever going to get to that 7.5% threshold to allow medical expenses to be deductible?

21 HS GV/BV doubleheaders
Longest drive- 76 miles
Shortest drive- 5 miles
Average drive- who knows
Bought: I shirt, 1 pair of shoes, 1 whistle, 1 jacket
$- 4200
Highest pay: 100
Lowest pay: 100
Average pay: 100
Number of tylenol taken before games: 42

Number of fine cigars smoked on the way home from games: 20

Partners I look forward to working with again: 23
Games called with the entire crotch of my pants coming unstitched: 1

Interesting facts:

Looking forward to my first college camp this summer.
One technical, to a coach, pretty sure I am at the top of his hate list now.
One technical, to a player for slamming the ball 30 feet in the air after a foul. I was told I was supposed to ignore that b/c he was mad at himself not at me.
For the first time in ten seasons I threw a fan out. It was pretty funny.
Number of fans eardrums I blew out hitting my whistle to throw her out- 1.
I have used the same whistle every game for five years now. Yea Fox40.
No, my lard butt didn't rip the pants. The seam came undone. No one noticed. Whew.

Season ended tonight with a semi final GV in district play. Just wanted to thank all the posters on this forum because I really feel reading this has made me a better official. I don't post often but I read it daily. I find it educational and funny. Just wish I knew more of the inside jokes.
I recommend this site to many officials I work with each year. Thanks again.
