Season summary

I have all my assignments for the rest of the year, so I thought it would be interesting to see some stats this morning. Thought I'd share:

50 dates:

46 HS Varsity
3 Juco Men
1 Middle School

20 3-person
30 2-person

Total earned: $2988.20.

Highest game fee: $100
Lowest game fee: $38.20 (2 checks split among 3 officials, once)
Usual game fee: $60 (29 dates)

Longest drive (1 way) - 115 miles (last night, HS girls)
Shortest drive (1 way) - 1/2 mile (the middle school date -- I was a fill-in for a local official working a football state final that afternoon)

Number of partners: 24. I worked with one official 23 times.

This year I bought 3 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 UnderArmour undershirts, a pack of socks, a pair of shoes, a bag, and a jacket. Drove a lot (haven't yet calculated my mileage -- will do that later -- in the end, I won't have much taxable income left, as always).

I still have 5 games left, including a pretty big one tomorrow night and a few playoff games.

Working with a partner who blows my endline 5 second call PRICELESS

For all else it's Mastercard

I'll join in. I don't have the money figured in however....

34 Varsity dates, most B/G double headers
24 JUCO women's dates
1 Freshman Double header to help out a great AD.
89 total games

8 technicals, 5 high school (2 players, 3 coaches), 3 college (2 players, 1 coach)

1 bad screw up losing the shooter on an off ball call while the ball was in the air.

I'll only be thinking about 1 of the aforementioned during the off season.

I'm almost finished creating the reports in Access for my season. I'm curious to see how many games I did overall but I believe on last count it was 51 scholastic games.

There's gotta be some good stories associated with some of those TFs.

Game #110 -- Player -- CYO -- unsportsmanlike (f-bomb)

This year I bought 0 shirts, 1 pairs of pants, 0 UnderArmour undershirts, a three-pack of socks, and a pair of shoes. Drove 3,220 miles including meetings.

I still have 5 games left--a pair of men's rec games that are worked three-person (a lot of the top officials in our chapter) and three in a regional tournament for Biddy Basketball. Last year teams came from up to 400 miles away! I had the Travel League Boys B division Final Four last night--that was fun!

Approximately 124 games since mid-September:

39 Varsity nights (Mostly V/JV doubleheaders, about a 50/50 mix of boys and girls)
6 JV tournament dates, usually 2 games each
2 Freshman games
24 Junior high games, all in the fall
5 Rec league high school games
5 Home school tournament games
1 varsity girls scrimmage

$7,023 made total, including mileage

Longest drive: 125 miles
Shortest drive: Less than five miles in the same city where I live

Bought two new shirts, a pair of pants, and a jacket before the season started. Need new shoes, another couple of shirts, and new whistles before next year.

Gave 5 techincals:

1 JH player
1 JV player
1 V player
1 V coach
1 for the defense slapping the ball on a throw-in

I've used the same whistle all season. I have a bagful of whistles and will likely use the same one until I crack it.

48 dates (56 games):

10 NAIA Women
8 Juco Women
3 D3 Women
6 HS Varsity
18 HS JV
8 F/S Boys
1 Freshman Girls
2 Jr. High Boys

36 3-person
20 2-person

Total earned: $4590.
Miles driven: 3665.8

Highest game fee: $170
Lowest game fee: $27.50
Usual game fee: $45-50 (29 dates)

Longest drive (1 way) - 307 miles (NAIA Women)
Shortest drive (1 way) - 3.5 miles (Hometown HS)

Oh yeah, and only 1 Technical!

Being it my first year doing college ball, I spent a LOT on equipment at the beginning of the season. Hopefully I won't have to purchase as much for next year...

I don't know about the number of games, around 30 or so. I took a reduced scheduled b/c I had back surgery over the summer. So my summary is:

The back held up. I guess I was in a lot more pain then I thought. I moved better then I have in years. (And by years I mean decades!)
Had good reviews. Espeically from one coach
ALL of my pants had to be taken in. (Although that got expensive with the suits!)
I won't be having another knee surgery. A baker's dozen should be enough for anyone!
Got too see good friends advance and couldn't be happier
Was able to help coach with my wife. We don't usually have much time during the season
Spent more time mentoring younger officials.
Have all my checks and registrations in for the summer camping season!!
And made new friends here on The Officials Forum.... I promised myself I wouldn't cry.....
