This kid looks like a real winner to me. Tell her she'll be in my prayers and all the rest of us, too!

I have said a prayer for Kassidy and your family and I will continue to do so. I looked up your church (glorydome.org?) looks like a cool place and your beliefs appear to be like mine.

A couple thoughts have come into my mind, please remember that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above, and by His stripes you were healed.

God Bless

Update 1 week after chemo

Kass is feeling better now. She is able to keep her foods and medicines on her stomach. She is very weak and is not sleeping as much as she was the last 4 days. We have to go back to the DR Thur to have her blood counts checked. If she doesnt start running a fever or any thing else unusual we will not have to go back until the 25th of this month for more treatments. The DR said she will not be as sick this time but she will begin losing her hair.
Several months ago (Jan 10) I was the one who started the thread "A bad situation for coaches" I dont know how to attach that thread to mine (someone help me please). But if you go back to that thread, we live in the same county as they do . My wife played for The VG coach in HS. I have officiated for both of those coaches. Now my girl is fighting cancer to. You can read more about those 2 little boys at samefight.org
Thanks for your words of encourgment and prayers . I have not responded to the emails from you guys, I have printed them off for Kassiday to read in the near future.SHE WILL enjoy readind them.
Update again soon......

Maybe he would do it on the next to last day of school in this case. I just shared the diagnosis with my wife who is a minister and who has been through a lot with her mother [who has cancer for the 5th time right now]. We will keep her in prayer.

SWVAREF also make sure you read my perspective on maintaining humor. It IS very important.

Thinking of your daughter and your family as you battle your way through all of this. My offer still stands, if I can do anything or offer any advice based on my experiences over the last 6 months on coping or being a caregiver, please reach out.

God Bless.

For Bball_Junkie and swvaref, you and your families are in our prayers.

We just lost a friend last week who's melanoma spread to the brain. My wife lost her sister to breast cancer and lymphoma 4 years ago. Her mother's stage II non-small cell lung cancer from last summer has returned and spread to her bones, which means it's advanced to stage IV. There are presently no clinic trials available within traveling distance. She is presently taking a daily chemotherapy pill as oppsed to the typical chemo treatments and receiving treatment for the bone cancer. We're trying to keep her comfortable but there's not much quality of life right now..

Cancer is a terrible disease. It touches everyone eventually.

Update on Kassidy.

We took Kassidy back to the DR on Thur (12th). Kassidy had been complaining that her left shoulder was very sore. The DR said they thought that was from her port-a-cath underneath her left arm and where she wasn't using her arm. The DR had a chest x-ray done. Kassidy had a collapsed lung. They put a tube in her chest on The 12th and today we finally came home.
She is feeling so much better, she is eating the way she used to. She came home today and has to go back Wed (25th) for more chemo .
Kassidy has been added to the website www samefight.org
This is the same site that I spoke about on my previous reply. Thanks again for your e-mails and just for listening. I'll update later

update

We did get to come home for a very short visit I had to take Kass back to the Hospital late Thur because we could not control her pain in her RT knee(this is where her cancer is). yesterday the DR took x-rays and they drained lots of fliud off of her knee hoping for some relief as of this morning, it has not helped much. In the last month I think she has been home for less than a week. She is still scheduled to start chemo on the 25th.Thanks for the way these two posts where combined!!Thanks again for everything

Update On Kassidy

Hello everyone I hope everyone is having a good summer.
Its been over a month since I have updated on Kassidy, I apologize and I hope you guys have not forgotten about her. On my last update I talked about the pain she was having at her main tumor site on her right knee. The doctors here in Roanoke VA sent us to Kassidy's surgeon at the Medicial College of Virginia at VA Commonwealth University in Richmond. On May 1st the Dr did surgery to see if he could clean up and repair her tumor site. After many test and scans, they discovered that the tumor had taken over her knee causing alot of pain that was completely uncontrolable. On May 3rd Kassidy had surgery to have her right leg above her knee amputated. On May 5th in Richmond the Dr did Bone scans, MRI and a CT scan. Those test showed 5 spots on her lungs,1 spot on her right rib cage and on her left knee also.We came back to Roanoke Va . On May 14th thru May 19th,she received 5 days of chemo. On May 30th she started chemo again and will receive treatments for 5 straight days.We will have the same test run again to see if the chemo has effected the tumors any,the 1st time it did not. We are hoping and praying that it has stopped the cancer . I am asking you guys to keep Kassidy in your prayers and pray the test next week come back good.I had signed up to go to several camps over the summer, but basketball is on hold for now,my wife and I are spending every minute with her that we can, remember she is 12. I ask you guys to visit her web site at Kassidyspage.com and samefight.org Thanks and I'll update soon
