In Ks. we are required to meet with the head coaches and captains before the game. My question is if the assistant coach is in the meeting is he/she the head coach for the entire game if the "head coach" does not get to the bench until half time. I have searched the rule book for definitions of head and assistant coaches but nothing is clearly stated with that scenario. If you know the rule please let me know which one it is.

NFHS rules do not address this situation. It simply addresses what the head coach can do. I would suggest that you contact your association director or booking supervisor and determines how he wants this to be handled.
