Re: working with new ref
I'm in my third year. I feel a new ref needs both constructive criticism and praise. We all need to work on certain aspects of our game. I still catch myself at times holding up a closed fist on out of bounds calls instead of open hand.
I myself will not tell a coach it's my partners first game. You should have a good pre-game and warn your partner of certain situations that may come up in your game.
