Ruling on an overthrow
I know I've read this ruling before, but I need a citation...
R1 on 1st, B2 hits deep to left. R1, off on the hit, rounds 2nd when she sees the ball caught by F7. As she retreats to 1st, the throw (released before R1 backtracks past 2nd) gets past F3 and goes out of play. R1 completes her responsiblilty and reaches 1st. What base is she awarded? I say home, but need a reliable rule interp. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseum. |
