Working the entire court
I was at a game last night where one of the officials suffered a pulled muscle in his leg with about 2:00 left in the first half. From that point on, he worked the middle of the court while his...

T Him Up!
I would T him up for the elbow. Then I would watch closely for any reaction from him so that I could T him up again and be finished with him for the night. I would also hold up the stop sign to the...

Fun, fun, fun
The most fun I have is when I can stick it to a rat who is getting on my nerves and then send him to the port-a-potty when he doesn't like it. The only problem this causes is with the report I have...

Check swings
I say the base umpire should come in before the defensive team leaves the field and inform everybody that the batter is out and not the runner. I know some guys think we should wait to be asked, but...

stance
I don't worry much about my stance. I adjust it from batter to batter. It doesn't really matter how I stand. I know that I am the only one on the field who knows the difference between a ball and...

Out of position?
Why would you ever be out of position. If you know the game, you should know when a steal is coming. Then you can "cheat" to be int eh correct position at all times.

Annoying Rat
I had a situation the other night that really upset me. I had a play at third where the runner overslid the base. I called him safe. The head coach of the team in the field came out and asked if...
