So
You'll penalize a runner for doing what she is supposed to do...run the bases? A runner is NOT required to slide...ever. So, by simply running the bases and touching them in legal order you're...

Interesting
in A and B this would have to be a HTBT call...however, if the catcher is only inches and/or a step beyond the plate where is the runner supposed to go? Isn't the runner permitted to run the bases...

No chance for 3 outs.
In my opinion you could only get a second out if the actions of R2 prevented the defense from getting an out on B3. The way the OP is worded with R1 stopping then starting again I'm having doubts...

Check "Effect"
It says it is an illegal pitch. If the batter hits the ball and all runners advance one base and the batter/runner achieves 1st base then the IP is nullified. All action stands. Otherwise the...

THE RUNNER IS OUT.
When, on a force play, a fielder contacts the base while holding the ball, or tags the runner before the runner reaches the base. If the forced runner, after touching the next...

She is retreating to 2nd base...
But, in doing so basically runs "past" second base by over sliding which puts her back between 1st and 2nd base. This would reinstate the force and since she is put out before regaining second base...

And when he asks you why the run doesn't score...
and you respond that the second runner passed the first runner and therefore you're not going to allow the run and he then quotes you the rule regarding a runner passing another runner and backs you...

Closing the Middle
While I understand the concept of closing the middle, unless you put up a net or some type of barricade this rule doesn't really protect a pitcher. If the pitcher gets hit by a batted ball even with...

MLB Umpires...
are too much a part of the show. If they would just do their job and not start shit then things would be better for the game.

Well
Once an obstructed runner is played on by the defense the ball becomes dead. At that point you then award bases. The way I read the OP R1 was played on sliding back in to 2B before a play was made...
