No, you can't.

8-3-3 states that Team A can score 1 point from what would normally be a safety by B.

Under NFHS rules, B cannot score during a try down.

Not doubting you (I'm a novice with NFHS rules) but I can't seem to find that in the book.....

Safeties are not possible during convert attempts.
