Yep, the 2 FTs should have been shot after the halftime was over and the throw-in administer as part of the T. No AP throw-in nor do you switch the arrow.

They do both matter, as there can be a try when the horn sounds without the ball being in flight, I believe.

Or could he be talking about a player who is fouled, while still holding the ball after starting the try (continuous motion), but before the horn such that they are still holding the ball at the time the buzzer sounds.

Ok, but the ball is dead at the horn. The period may not be, but that's not relevant to the OP. (That's what threw me off.)

So basically, since the T occurred after the period ended, the free throws start the next period. If the T had occurred before time expired, even if the timer couldn't get the clock stopped in time before the horn went, the free throws should happen immediately. Yes?
