That didn't come out right. I guess what I should have said that though it was your post, the response wasn't specific to you, but all. Officiating simply for the hourly rate just isn't right, IMO.

It was not meant as a personal attack toward you.

    Okay, as an aside note,

I assume you referred to one of my responses as negative. It was meant to be negative for the reason noted.

Softball umpiring is fraught with what are referred to by some as "greens" as in the color of money. And it hurts the reputation of umpires in general.

While it was directed as a response to your post, the comment was general. While the money is obviously helpful and a factor, I believe it shouldn't be the only factor and to me, your "shorter games" note came across as that.

I've lurked over there but haven't joined. I probably will. I'm pretty much a rules bookworm and don't pay a lot of attention to what a fed ruling is.

There are much better NCAA rules related discussions over on refstripes.com. These fed guys and Cannucks over here are gonna get you all messed up.

Sorry I'm just now getting this.

I have had some achilles tendonitis issues, but the running program I've been on really wasn't designed per se for that. It just helped it out.

What I'd recommend to anyone is something like this: start with 4 weeks of walking and work up to 45 minutes at a time. Then start adding sets of 30 seconds of running/2:30 of walking for the same time period, increasing the sets by 15 seconds of running per week (and decreasing the corresponding walk time). But don't go under a minute of walking until you can run for 9 minutes straight. (In other words, at 2 minutes running per set, keep walking for a minute afterwards -- all the way up to 9). At that point, you can do whatever you want.

    Hope this helps.

You mentioned your running program for tendonitis. Could you give me some details? I am having some of the same problems.

    Thanks
