Deviate here
I prefer to employ a more scientific method. Count 'em 3 times and then apply standard deviation. This is the method espoused by our resident deviate from Transylvania aka BillyMac.

I actually prefer to start counting at the basket and work my way to the back of the layup lines. The biggest flurry of activity is at the basket. Once I've got that sorted, then the more static lines are easy. YMMV
