The primary duty of the timer is to keep track of the time, yes, however there can be more to those duties depending on the game management & instructions given. |

I never said have the same authority as the officials, those times I have mentioned something to the officials about something I have observed, I leave the final decision to them on how to act on what I'm talking about. |

Have you ever made it that far without getting tossed?

I haven't been tossed from table duties, as I've never given the officials any reason to toss me.

1. You're coming across to the officials much differently than your words imply. 2. Officials there are taking way too much direction from the timer. 3. They're ignoring you. FWIW, "ignoring" can mean answering in platitudes because it's easier than telling you to drop it.

I mention what I see as observations not anything else, as I leave it up to the officials to make the final decision on what action to take. |

Nobody is indespensible, well almost nobody. No scorer? No problem, just bring down someone's Mom who knows the game outa the stands, show her what the buttons do, and we'll get by. No coach? Not a problem, The AD can fill in, or the Principle, play ball. No players? That could be a limiting factor. No game officials? One shows up, lets play. None at all, we got a liability problem, game canceled. |
