Maybe, but making the coach wait for his TO was an error.

Maybe, but the official calling the plane violation wasn't necessarily in error.

Forgive me; I tend to not just take the word of one person in these situations. I did not read anything that the official clearly told them that was in error. It sounds like to me like there was a communication break down and either the request was not understood or the coach did not understand what the official said to him. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Peace

It didn't seem right, but it wasn't a big deal, I was just wondering.
Looks clear to me, but there's always the caveat of "if it happened as you say it did...."

What you just quoted did not tell me anything. Did the shooter have the ball when this conversation took place? Did the conversation happen after the FTs were taken? It almost sounds like there were two different situations going on because there is nothing in order of a delay of game that would prevent a timeout. That why it sounds like to me they were not even talking about the same thing possibly.

Peace

And I thought I was a natural skeptic.

Ok..as soon as the T was called, I was asking for a timeout from the calling official. The other team didn't hadn't even sent up a shooter. They were still asking kids to walk across the half court line. So no, the shooter didn't have the ball because there was none. The official said I could not have the TO because it had to happen in the order it occurred. So he told me we had to shoot the ball before I could have a timeout. His example was if we had a common shooting foul and then a technical, we would shoot in order as they happened, I told him i knew that and that I didn't know why I still couldn't have a timeout. As I said before, it was not that I was upset, I was just wondering why he would not grant my request for a TO. I was not even disputing the T.

I believe you, and given the fact that the technical foul seems to have discombobulated the officials, the mistake in red doesn't surprise me, either.
