I was thinking about this situation all morning at work, and when I got home from work, I was disappointed that the original poster didn't "take the bait". the case plays however - in the case plays you will notice that the only way the throwin team loses the ability to run the end line is if the throw in ends,
or they are given a throw in at the spot nearest were the foul occured closer to their basket.
If the violation or foul occured in the backcourt where the throw in would stay on the end line the team does not lose the ability to run the line.
