Couldn't disagree more. The defender had legal guarding position, was moving laterally/obliquely and not toward the player, and took the contact in the torso. It's the definition of a PC foul - at least according to NFHS rules...

Play 3 could be a block. I watched the feet of the B player and he obtains LGP and moves to maintain that position. However, it does appears that he sticks out his chest and abdomen prior to the contact. I can see this going either way.

Play 3 Player Control - Defensive player has obtained a legal guarding position and moves in the direction the player is going. Contact is shoulder to chest, therefore, by definition Player control
Play 4 Player control Play 5 Player control Play 6 Player control all for the same reason Play 7&8 There appears to be little to no contact, either no call and tell to get up or block for the acting job and talk to them about the fake or amplification of the contact. It will stop the acting. |

Doesn't the fact that he took the contact on the torso prove that he beat him to the spot?

You're absolutely right in the situation of an airborne shooter. But Play 6 was not an airborne player.
