I am assuming you mean basket interference (even thought offensive players can GT the basketball, but it is very rare) in this play. Whether you have a BI or GT, it will not change the type of foul unless a defensive player comitted one of these violations. Peace

If he's fouled in the act of shooting, he's awarded 2 free throws (or 3 on a 3 point attempt). Unless, that is, the try attempt is made, then it counts and the fouled player is awarded one free throw. If an offensive violation causes the ball to become dead after the shot, any resulting basket made would be waived off, thus, we are back to the 2 or 3 free throws. If the defensive team commits the basket interference or goaltending, then you'd award the points for the shot as if it were made and award one free throw.
