I do not think he wanted a timeout. He clearly did not know the rule. But once we remove notice the blood, he has to be removed appropriately even if it is not his own blood. But it was a nose bleed it appeared.

Agree. Been there. Done that.

They sometimes have to be "reminded", "Coach, you can keep him in with a timeout, or he has to sit a tick of the clock".

I have to use this a lot in my middle school games, but also had to use it occasionally back in my pre-arthritis varsity days.

No, I don't feel bad about passing on a tech, although he earned one there. I actually t'd him up later for coming at me about a non-call, as he was not only being a jerk but wouldn't get back in the coaches box. I actually walked by him after I reported the call to the table and pointed at the line marking the box to not only show him what he did (although he knew) but to also make it clear to the fans.
