What's the deal with this? I'm seeing more and more of it. Where's it coming from?

LL umpires who saw this on tv one day and are imitating now that they are on TV... not realizing you don't do that on a swinging strike.

Umpires who think they don't get to use their punch out mechanic enough?

Hey, I might start punching out runners on the bases...
