Swinging Strike Mechanic
I saw something new during an ESPN clip on baseball tonight. It happened really fast, so I can't even tell you what game it was.
They showed a Check Swing that was called a swing (and it was) by PU, for strike three. The umpire's mechanic was something I had never seen before. He emphatically pointed at the batter with his Left hand, and rotated his Right Index finger in the air (like a home run signal). I'm sure he was also saying, "yes he went." Anybody else use that mechanic ? I usually just point with my left hand, and indicate an Out, while saying, "Yes he went."

Stick with your mechanic and leave the show-boating to the pros. they can get away with that stuff. We shod keep it simple as most amateur "Rats" are simpletons anyway!

DiB
I once saw a DiB (disgrace in blue) who dressed up every strike ... his swinging strike 3 was only a tad shy of Dutch Rennert's called strike.
A real LL jamoke--no hat, brown belt, dress pants, shoes shined with a brick--the whole shebang. Ace
