Only if you wrestled in HS or C should you become a wrestling official. There is no-way you can do the job correctly. You need to know how a hold is applied and the limits before it becomes potential dangerous or illegal. if you have or did wrestle, get to a school and ask the coach to get on the mat, get the feel back. Its the best. Like they say, Wrestling is what men do during boys basketball season.

Despite what eprov says, you can be a good oficial without having been a wrestler. It just takes extra work to understand the sport. Former athletes tend to be not so good as officials as they take a while to quit thinking like an athlete and start thinking like an official.Eventually they catch on. |
