I believe they are the Western Hemisphere cousins of the Maasai Werethefugarewe, the long-lost tribe of great leapers, some with a vertical of 5' found roaming the great savannas of Africa by the great mystic, Carnac the Magnificent while on safari

I saw him while visiting gypsy cousins in Mesopotamia. Not sure if it was earlier or later in his career, but we called him Carnac the Meh...
