Runner leaves early

Called dead ball, because the runner at 1st base left early before the pitcher released the ball . The pitch also hit the batter and slightly injured her.

Let the batter take 1st base. Neither coach said anything.

Was letting the batter take 1st base the correct call or since dead ball was called have the injured batter bat again?

As already stated, in any association except NCAA, a runner leaving early is a no pitch situation. The ball was dead before the ball left the pitchers hand, the batter remains at bat with a bruise and the same count as before the pitch.

That wasn't a pitch. The runner leaving early is a dead ball, no pitch. (ex: NCAA).

Thanks, I thought that was the case. I let this go because the score was 22-0 in the 3rd inning. The batter was from the losing team. This was their only base runners until the game ended. Still no excuse, but that is what I did.

Dead balls are dead (except in college)

Nope, just mostly dead, and we all know 'there's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do - go through its clothes and look for loose change. '

Some balls are not totally dead, just delayed dead.....

Which means, the shot's been fired, we just don't know if the wound is fatal yet....
