I like to introduce people to shooting. My wife and I shoot together when we can. I am not a firearms instructor, although I have logged hundreds of hours shooting and training.

Same here. I have a number of different firearms in my house, and my wife is familiar enough with all of them that she can handle them without any issues.

Not to mention the fact that she can pick you off from 200 yards with open sights! She hit the black twice (only fired two shots) with an old Enfield a buddy of mine has. No kidding.

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

My wife has her Concealed Handgun License and carries pretty regular, especially when out late with the kids. One of the things that I try to do every year is to take a couple of my friends deer hunting; this gives me the opportunity to introduce others to hunting and shooting. I have to say that I find great joy in teaching others about shooting and the outdoors.

Why? What did a deer ever do to you or your friends?

IRISH, I worked a large number of deer vs auto accidents in my early trooper days. I now feel obligated to keep the public safe by shooting my limit each year.

Ever go up the Natchez Trace in Mississippi? A buddy of mine and I drove those 84 miles to I-20 a few years ago, right around 8 PM in November.

We spotted between 150-200 deer, and those were just the ones we could see.

Not a single one got within 100 feet of the car. Amazing!

We had our pistols in the trunk of the car, and the temptation was high. Fortunately, we decided to stay on the right side of the law.

My dad's friend used to give us venison all the time because he had so much of it from hunting. Now that is good eating!
