Houston Bound

So 2 1/2 years after moving from Lincoln, NE to Charlotte, NC we are on the move again. This time to the great state of Texas, Houston to be exact. Stupid witness relocation program.

Any advice from the Texas umps out there? I am strickly ASA slowpitch. Any contacts I should make or cool Lone Star secrets I should know about? Thank you in advance.

This is the link to the Houston ASA website. Scott Geron would probably be your best bet for contacting regarding slowpitch in Houston. Most of these umpires listed on the website are on the Southeast side of Houston. Scott should be able to hook you up with whoever you need depending on which side of the city you end up staying at.

Feel free to contact me further if you have any questions. Ive lived here most of my life. Welcome to H-town!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Ill be thinking of y'all. My SP days are over unless someone is really hard up for a warm body.

I'm headed to Sulphur next week and that will probably be it as far as National Tournaments are concerned.

Introduce yourself. I will be there. No problem finding me. Probably the
only 72 yr. bald headed umpire there.

Do any of you H-Towners know if there is still much men's FP going on in the city? It's been 18 years since I played FP there, but some of my fondest memories from my younger days involve playing in Lawrence Mesa's Father's Day tournament and the Houston Chronicle tournament each year.

There have one big tournament every year, which was this past week.

UIC is Tom Red. He can fill you in on the men's play.

PM me if you want his number.
