NOT SAYING THIS IS THE CASE, but you asked the question. I have seen "umpires" treat their uniform worse than they treat home-eating termites. They keep it in the trunk of their car or stuffed into an "equipment bag" or a bag they may use to carry their equipment.

Their idea of preparing it for wear is to pull it out and shake it as if that causes all dirt to fall off and smooths out the wrinkles. And it isn't just jackets, but shirts and pants, also.

I have no doubt you keep and treat your equipment with much care, but like I said, you asked the question.
