No kidding...I fell asleep reading it. I've actually had student papers more interesting, and they write crappy!

Here is one of the plays:

Quote:
Play:R1 on 1B and R2 on 2B with no outs. B3 hits a fly ball between 1B and 2B. The umpires rule infield fly and the ball hits the ground in front of F4 and hits R2 who was returning to 1B while F4 is attempting to field the ball.
What is wrong with this offering?

Why is R2 returning to 1B when according to the OP, R2 started on 2B?

No, more like... Why didn't ASA stick to its own labeling schema? Lead runner is ALWAYS R1.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

Maybe the idiot who proofs the rulebook is the same idiot who proofed the clarification document.

Hey now...

If anything, I find it amusing. After all, we're all human. But as the book says, we're expected to be perfect the first game, and to improve every game after that.

My money is on a simple cut and paste of a play from someone who used the incorrect designations.

The irony is that JJ covered this issue (scenario presentation) at the UIC clinic this year.
