Anyone catch the April Fools Prank that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban pulled?

During a break, Cuban went on the floor, and faked getting into an argument with one of the officials. Cuban then shoved the ref, and the ref shoved back. The two then started wrestling. Assistant Coach Del Harris went out to separate them, and ZAP, the jig was up.

You should have seen the look on Harris' face...priceless.

Now if the ref had only fallen over backwards and rolled on the floor when Cuban shoved him, and then denied any prior knowledge of planning the incident--that would have been good!
Cuban would then be the one with the stunned look on his face and likely would be suspended for a long, long time.

Um, I hate to seem dense, but I don't get the "demand" pricing thing. It just sounds like the Expos are reducing all their ticket prices. Is there more to it than that? How can they reduce prices of games they play on the road?

It's almost 9 am, so I should be awake enough to get it; but I don't.

That was one of the funniest things I saw. I wonder how much the NBA played a part in that?

Peace

The "official" involved in the gag was not an NBA official. In the video, you can see that the "official" does not have a number on his jersey and he's wearing white socks. I'm guessing they warned the league before they did it. At least I hope they did. I'd hate for Cuban to be fined for something that was totally done in jest. He's actually been behaving well this year.

I was in bed half asleep when I saw it. I did think the pants were rather baggy, but the guy did look like one of the officials I have seen before. I just thought it was an actual official that was in on the joke. Especially when Harris reacted the way he did.

Peace

The paper here said it was one of the workers from the arena, but that Cuban used him because he looks quite a bit like one of the officials working the game...the official knew about it and stepped off the edge of the court and this guy stepped on...saw it on the late news last night and laughed out loud!

FROM ESPN.COM...

Cuban gets into shoving match with phony official

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban pulled an April Fools' gag during a timeout in the second quarter of Tuesday night's game against the New Orleans Hornets, getting into a shoving match with a phony game official.

Cuban, heavily fined last season for his complaints about officiating, went onto the court during the stoppage in play and began arguing with a man dressed as a game official.

Cuban began shoving the man and was restrained by one of the team's equipment managers before it became apparent that the incident had been staged.

The real officials chuckled at Cuban's antics.

On today's Dan Patrick Show

Cuban said that he had NOT asked for permission or told the NBA of what was going to happen.

He said in this case he thought. "it is better to ask to be forgiving rather than ask permission."
