Timing play basics?

2 out timing plays. Can someone give me basic. Runner would have to be in scoring position such as runners on
2nd and 3rd? thanks

If I understand your question you are asking what a timing play is. It is simply did the runner score, touch home plate, before or after the third out was made. If before the 3rd out, run scores, If after the 3rd out run does not score. The out would have to be a tag play, not a force out.

The runner could be on 1B, 2B, or 3B at the time of the pitch. Obviously you wouldn't have a timing play if there was no one on at the time of the pitch.

Sure you would... If the runner running home was the one who just hit the ball!

But in all seriousness, there are dozens and dozens of timing plays. Dholloway1962 touched on a few. Certain appeal plays are timing plays (such as not tagging up on a caught fly ball). Tag plays are usually timing plays.

Basically, if it wasn't a force out, it was a timing play.

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.
