IFF question

Runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out. Batter pops up to the infield. Umpire calls IFF. Ball hits midway between home and third, then rolls foul untouched. Foul ball? Or play on?

Foul ball once it's touched, comes to rest, or a fielder trying to play it is interfered with while the ball is in foul territory. Play on.

Foul ball.

An Infield Fly, by definition, must be a fair batted ball. Once it becomes foul, the Infield Fly Rule is out the window.

I've got a foul ball even if I called IFF. You have to have a fair batted ball to have an IFF by definition and once it's determined to be foul, no IFF.

And that's why, if it's close, you call "Infield fly, if fair."

You gave the reason for this being a foul ball, yet you say, "play on". Why?

Uh...he was asking this of youngump, not the OP BITS. I know that you have been through a lot this weekend, but it shouldn't have impaired your reading skills.

Because a foul ball seems like a bad reason to suspend the game?
