". . . and before the batter-runner or a trailing runner has not yet been put out."

This might be the single worst mangling of grammar and syntax in all the many rule books (and man, that's saying something). Well, I guess it's to be expected from a college code.

The 2006 NCAA book, under its definition of "force out," said, "There cannot be a force out . . . when a fly ball is not caught."

Howzat?

They removed "not" for the 2007 book. Only 684 corrections to go.

Gotta love the YSIF.

Yes, it's right there in the note section under 2.0d.

The sandal may be made of any metal or similar material provided it is the second Tuesday of the month, the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius, and a fourth out appeal has been made after an infield fly situation.

Huh? What rule book are you reading? Here are the limitations concerning sandals:

Quote:
The sandal shall be made of hard wood, in one piece, or laminated from sections of hard wood or hard wood and leather bonded together with adhesive in such a way that the grain directions of all the pieces are essentially parallel to the lengths of the sanadal.
The sandal may also be made of aluminum or other metals, Fiberglass, graphite, leather or a composite material such as plastic. The sandal may be made in pieces from different materials; but must have a strap that goes across the foot and may be modular with interchangeable parts, subject to additional safety and tampering requirements.

Next thing you know, you'll have guys who doctor their sandals, and we'll have to switch to a lower .COR.
