Question

Okay this is a simple question that I am totally brain farting on. Summer league game, NFHS rules, NO one on, 3 - 0 count, ball 4 SAILS over backstop. ( I have NEVER had this happen before!) Walk or walk plus base for out of play. Runner went to first. No one questioned. I said nothing, play continued.

Wouldn't ball 4 result in a dead ball anyway?

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

*shrug* I don't call NFHS. Just took a stab at it on a boring Friday night. Wife hasn't moved into my place yet (just got married).

NCASAUmp, Congrats on the new mrs. Now get her moved in and calling games with you! You were "sorta" right. This ball (not all ball fours's) IS dead.

8-4-3-c PENALTY
The ball is dead and all runners are awarded one base only. The batter is awarded first base only on the fourth ball.

Well, she's from Argentina, so her knowledge of softball/baseball is very limited. It took me about 5 minutes to explain what a force out is to her. "Well, why does he have to leave the base?"

We Americans take much for granted.

Had to wait for my roommate to move out first. He's now on his way to Louisiana. Mrs. NCASAUmp moves in tomorrow (gotta clean like hell first).

Why? Then she wouldn't have anything to do!

Because if I don't, it would be a short marriage. Two bachelors living together for almost 2 years... lots to clean up!

You've never seen my apartment! My old roommate's concept of cleaning consisted of piling the mess in a corner. Don't get me wrong, I love him like he's my own brother... But I don't think he vacuumed once!
