Unreported Substitute

NFHS game, top 7th inning, 1 out, R1 on 1B. Coach sends new player B2 into game to bat, but unreported. First pitch to B2 is strike. Visiting coach requests and is granted time, tells PU that B2 is sub for removed player. PU announces the sub.

Home coach comes out and wants to know what is the penalty for the infraction after a pitch had been thrown to the unreported sub. PU tells her that there is no penalty, because the offense coach announced the sub to the PU, so she is no longer unreported.
---------------------------------------------
What if B2 had gotten a hit on the first pitch as an unreported sub, and the play resulted with R1 on 2B and BR2 on 1B, if (four scenarios):

A.) Offensive coach then reports unreported sub to PU after the hit, and before next pitch to B3.

B.) Offensive coach then reports unreported sub to PU after the hit, and after next pitch to B3.

C.) Defensive coach tells PU about unreported sub before Off. coach tells PU about it, and before next pitch to B3.

D.) Defensive coach tells PU about unreported sub before Off. coach tells PU about it, and after next pitch to B3.

Thanks.

Unless I'm missing something, all of your scenarios are meaningless in NFHS game. The penalty for a first unreported sub, no matter who brings it up, no matter when, is a team warning. Further, the unreported sub is officially in the game once the PU makes the ball live with the sub in the batter box.

So, in every case, all we have is a warning, and the result of what has happened to that point.

Correct, this is a "team warning" in every case. No penalty to the player at all, as is the desire of the NFHS.
