State Association Permission

In CT, they only allow it for the championship games so I may have gotten confused.

Researching it further, looking at CB 2.2.1 Sit A, it starts "During a state championship series contest in...

Clarification

I believe the D-3 here refers to the MA HS division and this is being played under Fed rules, so a replay couldn't help since it is not a state final.

Edit - Confirmed it is a high school game and...

Women's SWAC

And with this discussion comes a huge brawl from the women's SWAC tournament (from http://deadspin.com/massive-brawl-at-womens-basketball-game-results-in-15-s-1690499267):

Officials tried to...

Back off

Agree with all the above. Was told at camp last year to try to separate the players initially if you can get there quick enough but once the first punch is thrown, back off and observe.

As well as it being crunch time and teams (and officials) are jockeying for postseason slots.

Some coaches jobs are on the line, players careers are ending, etc... Just a stressful time for all...

Maybe?

Maybe they were thinking it was a substitute and using 10.2.2. If you look at the Casebook, it says you have until the next live ball following the first dead ball to administer the T.

I wouldn't...

1099's

AKA send you 1099's and report how much they pay you to the gov't. You are not getting paid by the schools/associations. They are funding their RefPay account and RefPay pays you, so if you get paid...

No verticality

We are advised to call it a block because if he starts leaning back before contact, he lost verticality and is no longer has LGP. No different than if he had his arms extended and made contact. (I...

Disheartening ways to lose a game (Video)

How will you be presenting feedback to them? Immediately? A form later on? Do you meet with them in the locker room after to discuss, even if it is not the formal feedback?

Fighting Question

I was watching/reading the Deadspin article at http://deadspin.com/d-league-teammates-ejected-for-fighting-each-other-1682268522 and it made me think about how it would apply to a HS game. I don't...

Find a longer clip. L was on he play and had a foul when it happened. Hypothesis was the Indiana player was looking back at the L hoping for a team-control foul on the big guy. When he didn't get it,...

NCAAM Rules

A point of clarification - I know a number of refs that officiate these games on MLK weekend at the Naismith HoF. They are assigned by college assignors and are following NCAAM rules.
