Ted, I'm looking for what Cecil quoted in B. 2 in a USA document. I see USA 5-11, which is their tie breaker rule, but it doesn't cover B. 2, and doesn't specifically reference a CR for F2.

The NFHS requires that the pitcher or catcher must have batted and reahed base, or "earned" in parentheses, their way on base to be eligible for a courtesy runner. Rule 8-9 Art 2. When a game has...

Masks

So PU must wear a mask but not F2. They are about a foot apart and breathing on each other, but only PU must wear a mask? If F2 gets the virus, illness is likely to be mild with virtually zero chance...

Tru n Blue, I read the casebook play (thanks for pointing it out). In that play, the runner, R1, committed to try to score before the BR acted to prevent F3 from making a play on R1. Clearly, the BRs...

Youngump, that would be expecting R@3 to think like an umpire. Perhaps the coach should have known that, but the runner?

This happened in my game a couple weeks ago. NFHS rules in effect. Would like input on how you see this play.

Runner at 3rd, one out, fly ball to F3 who is in foul territory when

Disagree with "starting when R1 approaches 2nd" because the out hasn't occurred at 1B yet. Remember R1 gets off the base on the release of the pitch and takes off when the bunt is laid down so she is...

Playoff time, we're working 3-man. Runner at first, we are rotated, I'm U1. Batter sac bunts, and is out at first, and while that is happening, the runner notices that 3rd is left uncovered and never...

This game was on the way to a 20-0 slaughter rule outcome. The winning team made the base running gaffe. Their coach was not looking to further humiliate the other team by arguing that call. I told...

I was PU. R1 on 2nd, 1 out. Batter grounds out F3 unassisted. R1 chugs into 3rd and rounds the base. However she thought there were 3 outs and turned around and began running to her defensive...

Does look back re-establish after a fake throw?

Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs. Coach sends R2 on pitch but holds R3 hoping for the defense to play on R2 so he can send R3 home. F1 doesn't bite, fakes a throw to F5. R3 fake starts toward home,...
