Talking My son

My son is 13, has been playing ball of some sort for eight years. He has always wanted to umpire, so I told him that this year, after he has some playing experience on a real-size diamond, I would...

In RE: Actually tagging 1B

From my view, yes F3 got the second-base side of the bag when he jabbed at it.

In retrospect, however, since I was about 75'-80' away from the play, the angle I took may have been just right to...

The point is I gave the coach enough time to vent, and when I signalled him to stop he did.

The real problem came when he decided to take up the case again after the inning.

As to being a...

First game, 3rd inning, R1, grounder hit sharply to F3. He jabs at the bag with his foot, turns...

Confusing 3-1 move w/"Jab Step"

SanDiegoSteve,

The move NAPBL is mentioning is when the RH F1, in order to make a strong throw, "jabs" the ground with his pivot foot a few inches towards 3B, then makes a step towards 1B with his...

My son's fall ball league this year experimented by having no coaches. The kids (10-12 yrs) ran the whole show: line-ups, positions, pitching changes, everything. They had a blast, and it was fun to...
