Safety
I was a former kicker in high school and college and it had always been explained to me that safety was the primary reason for this rule. In addition, back (oh so many years ago) there were not too...

Here is the video. Judging from the TV anchorman, he says its kicked in the endzone but I don't think he was at the game. If he is in the endzone, its not by much.
I think he was in the...

Wow
At times we all react to calls. As a coach/player/fan and official we all have different angles on the same play. We can't possibly see the things the otherone does. We can react. Disappointment,...

Thanks for the responses.
Our kicker was drilled just as he was kicking. The leg was just making contact with the ball. Either way, running or roughing would have resulted in the same penalty...

Follow Up Question to those proposed
I am only a coach so I may be off base here, but don't the answers to the block kicked portions of these questions depend on where the kick was blocked at? For example, if the kick was blocked...

Roughing The Kicker
During our youth football game covered by High School Rules, we had our placekicker hit by a defender during the try. No roughing the kicker penalty was called. From my view, the defender did not...

A tip of the cap
To the forum:
Last year at this time, I had asked the forum if I had deserved some technicals. I received a lot of advice. Some more stern than I would have wanted.
Anyway, a year later. No...

Bawling like a Baby?
As I read this post, this is the phrase that stuck with me. Don't know why, but it did. The kids are 9 or 10 and when they fall some will cry. Sometimes the crying doesn't match the nature of the...

Is the point,...

I will assume (I know what happens), that the V game was later. Couldn't this dunk have been deemed a dunk during the Varsity Warm-ups and assess the T for that game?
Realistically, I have seen a...
