The question "WHY" comes up many times but there can only be ONE reason! Anybody can "CALL" a game BUT it takes a STRONG BACKBONE TO W-O-R-K a game!!

I call this my Rule #1 when we are talking H.S. Football. We ALL should use this simple reasoning: If anything is true about H.S. Football, no matter how many A's there are to describe the size of the school. CALL THE OBVIOUS AND THE FLAGRANT! As an Official, your #1 reason for being a part of the "SHOW" is simple. You call a foul when (A) A team violates a rule to gain an advantage or (B) You make a call to protect all the players.

"We ran that last week and they didn't flag it". That is a a very common statement. I have heard that before and then contacted the previous crew and found out they were flagging whatever it was that the coach said they didn't get flagged for.

In most cases I believe the coach is lying. What I'd like to do is ask for the name of the crew from last week so I can make sure they get it right next time.
