Well, we have fouls that prevent the ball from becoming live (semantic, stickler point).

They're dead ball fouls. False start. Delay of game. Failure to wear mandatory player equipment just before snap. Illegal substitution. Encroachment. Snap infraction.

Are there others? I'll hang up and listen to your answer.
