I'm actually from Canada, but have been here for 12 years. I saw a photo of some players in the local paper and went to the team to train with them (to keep in shape) - not knowing they would let me play.
After a few years I decided to officiate as well, and have been doing both for a while now.
It is possible to work a lower level game here when you are not part of the association - I worked a game with a half crew from Sweden who had come over for the soccer world cup.
Sportsmanship is somewhat lacking, and the game is fairly slow, but it's still fun to be out on the field.
Hi, just curious. What level of ball do you work in Germany? Are you German? I spent time over there in college and would have loved to work some games while I was there. Wish I would have looked into it a little more.
