what I was saying was the Fed doesn't have a rule that directly lets you penalize this as a BS or PS foul. You can't take away the TD, etc. That's what I was getting at....

I was just stating that you can't penalize from the BS or PS but only the SS, so in other words, the TD will count, etc...

Oh, I see. I think most officials would WANT the play to count. Seems awfully punitive to cancel a score over a coach straying too far out.

I agree...I would hate to do that to the players and therefore I'm almost glad I don't have the choice as the rule takes care of that. However, I have to admit that I would want it to sting a little more for the coach, only because we all know how effective 'negative reinforcement' can be and this is a safety issue.
