A team may not be in continuous control of a the ball in their backcourt for 10 seconds (9-8) and a team loses team control when the ball becomes dead (4-12-3-c). So if the count is at 7 for A in team control in the backcourt and A calls time-out, A has lost team control and so there is no longer continuous control in the backcourt.

By "blown" do you mean "called?" Or do you mean "missed?" I've called it in HS and college. With the use of the shot clock in college, it's pretty strict. Less so in HS. |

Very early in my career I did not realize this was part of the ending of the count. But I learned that in my first year and basically get this rule when it is obvious pretty much every time.
Peace

also, its a different play, but if the pass was a bounce pass, the count ends when the ball touches entirely in the front court. IT now has front court status. just pointing that out. thx
