10 second count

not 100% sure.

Get to 7 on the 10 second backcourt count. If a timeout, or ball goes out of bounds, the count is restarted. Is that correct?

Yessir. I believe the NBA is the only rule set that continues counting the violation, and only in the case of a timeout (a foul would reset the 24). Is this correct APG?

I cannot believe that in the least 6 years that you have been officiating that you never had to deal with this situation

A team may not be in continuous control of a the ball in their backcourt for 10 seconds (9-8) and a team loses team control when the ball becomes dead (4-12-3-c). So if the count is at 7 for A in team control in the backcourt and A calls time-out, A has lost team control and so there is no longer continuous control in the backcourt.

nah, to be honest I had just semi-forgot. I heard my partner tell the coach that answer and I just wanted to check.

Just as you get to ten in your count, a long pass to the front court. Ten second violation?

If you reach 10 before the ball is touched in the FC, yes by rule.

I am with you here. This myth should have been dispelled in the first year.

Peace

By "blown" do you mean "called?" Or do you mean "missed?"

I've called it in HS and college. With the use of the shot clock in college, it's pretty strict. Less so in HS.

Very early in my career I did not realize this was part of the ending of the count. But I learned that in my first year and basically get this rule when it is obvious pretty much every time.

Peace

Oops, called this. Tape doesn't lie, and of you get to ten before the front court status, tweet.

NBA has a hard 8 count...I want to say FIBA does also.

Under NBA rules, any foul, or kick/punched ball violation, or DOG warning on the defense where the ball will be thrown in in the backcourt will result in a new 8 count (but not necessarily in a new 24)
