It would be a cold day in hell for me to call it at the HS game unless a specific directive to do so.

Peace

Big Mistake ...

About thirty-five years ago, a Southern Connecticut State College player dunked a dead ball after the buzzer to celebrate a last second victory over Springfield College. A technical was charged, and if I recall correctly, the free throws by Springfield tied the game, and Southern lost in overtime.

And the crew was sent packing to the CMSL

This.

I had a HS varsity game couple years ago. Team calls a TO and one of the players runs up from half court and hangs on the rim.

I called the T.

Coach chewed his player out for being an idiot.

The KU player dunked the ball just after the buzzer to end the game and 2nd OT and no one on the officiating crew saw the dunk, .

On the other hand: Rock! Chock! JayHawk! KAAAAAY! UUUUUUUU!

Are you kidding?! Of course they didn't see it! After that horribly officiated game I bet John Higgins and the crew were halfway to the airport before the ball hit the ground after that dunk!

They broke Rule #1... TWICE!! I mean come on, call a foul on the last-second, off-balance prayer shot at the end of regulation!

If the OSU player gets a contact technical or an F2 for hammering the kid who just dunked a dead ball but the dunker - who just did something blatantly illegal - doesn't get anything, the crew is really in the soup. Even if a call is made on the KU player it's being done because the crew had to as opposed to being proactive.
This is where I was going with the OP!
