Honestly I do not care what other officials say or do. It is a rule and we have the right to simply just enforce the rule. If I am telling you something or using preventative officiating to not be so strict, then you should have enough sense to just comply. Coaches want it both ways. They want us to tell them everything but when we do they get upset. It is like telling a player to be careful not to reach across the throw in plane, then being upset when you violate the rule.

Peace

Which is why I made my post. Sometimes our colleagues are our worst enemies, not often, but sometimes.

Electrified barbed wire surrounding the box would be okay with me. Or one of those buried invisible doggie fence systems where a shock is sent via a collar when over the boundary--I'd be okay with that.
Frankly, it isn't much of a problem around these parts. If sincerely coaching, a little latitude is given but not really taken to the point of hideous abuse that I've seen. If yelling lungs out at one of us while out of it, well, that makes it just that much easier to assess a T. Though I really have never had to in recent memory. Can't recall a coach putting up a hissy-fit when asked tactfully to get back in the box.
